yorkshire post June 22nd 2011

(July 14, 2011)

from David J Whitehead,

sunnydale crescent, Hinklley.

Having read Lynne Dowle's article ( yorkshire post ,june 9 ) in your excellent newspaper purchased on our first holiday in Yorkshire, i felt compelled on returning home to write after a marvellouous week in Bridlington.

Jayne you didnt drop lucky. Our experience was nohing but positive from start to finish. We met nothing but politeness assistance and attentiveness, but not overbearing shop assistants. Our guesthouse could not have been better or the owners more warm and friendly.

In our experience of seaside  holidays in this country our bedroom was spaciouse, very well furnished, ensuite with double shower, and can i say, the breakfast was a quality and quantity secound to none.

To say we were set up for the day was not overstated, suffice to add i am sufering withdawal symptoms.

Our visit to other resorts along the coast (Scarbrough,Fily and magnificent Flambrough Head ) and inland ( york and Wet wang ) saw a similarlevel of friendliness and courtesy.

York's park and ride was well served and not expensive. Cafe's restraurants aplenty and not one disappointed for service, food quality and good value for money. The wek in Brid was " the seaside experience " and it is somewhat sad to discover this in our late 50s.

Yes- back next year and this time with a four- year- old. Well, at least i can build sandcastles on exceptional beaches without folks perhaps thinking i was on a day visit with my carer, the lady wife.

Well done Brid, Yorkshire and our hosts at the Malvern Guesthouse. A richly deserved 10 out of 10 seaside experience.
